MY STORY

I have always had a passion for delicious and nutritious food. From a young age, I was involved in the kitchen preparing food; thus my decision to study food service management, which led me to becoming a well-recognized chef in the industry.

Personally I had issues with my body image and a growing struggle with mental health. During my youth, I was always too skinny and then later on as an adult I found myself becoming overweight in all the wrong places especially around my middle. I was constantly feeling tired, anxious and struggling with low mood.

With help, I started to put some good habits in place and made positive mind-set changes. At age 34, a friend invited me to join her at a group gym with her trainer and that was where the real magic started. I trained with a coach that believed in me and no matter how hard it was for me, the fact that he believed in me, kept pushing me to be better. My love for exercise grew and I ended up competing at age 40 in group fitness events in the Masters category. This led me to remember my childhood dream of running the Comrades Marathon and in 2019 I completed my first Comrades.

Through joining some health and fitness challenges, it opened my eyes to understanding why people so often struggle on their health and fitness journey...they don’t know how to prepare healthy delicious meals and have a misconception about healthy foods and how tasty it could be. We all look for that one shoe fits all solution to get us back to our youthful self. I realized that I had the knowledge and experience to help people make nutritious and delicious meals that will not only make you look good but also feel great.

By constantly taking positive action towards personal goals can yield unexpected results. Thus I enrolled to become a health and wellness coach in order to make this opportunity of discovery available to all… including you!
